It’s a bird, it’s a plane — it’s Notorious RBG!
Ruth Bader Ginsburg is a superhero to Michele Threefoot, an 8-year-old girl in Columbia, Maryland, who dressed as the Supreme Court justice for her school’s “Superhero Day.” She learned about Ginsburg from a children’s book called “I Dissent: Ruth Bader Ginsburg Makes Her Mark.” Michele’s mother, Krista, told the Huffington Post that her daughter responded to the stories Ginsburg told of the prejudices she faced as a child and her subsequent lifelong work to fight inequality. A Facebook photo of Michele in her Ginsburg garb quickly went viral, and caught the attention of an assistant to the justice. A few weeks later, Michele received a handwritten note from Ginsburg that read, “Dear Michele: You look just like me! May you continue to thrive on reading and learning.” At press time, the family was working on a thank-you note to the justice.
