At a press briefing Tuesday, environmental advocates crossed into what might be considered dangerous territory on playgrounds and in politics—moms.

In this instance, it was the late mother of Supreme Court nominee Judge Neil Gorsuch, Reagan era Environmental Protection Agency chief Anne Gorsuch Burford, who became part of the discussion—referenced as a sort of cautionary tale for those in the Trump administration who’d aggressively roll back environmental regulations.
