U.S. Supreme Court nominee Judge Neil Gorsuch emerged unscathed from two very long days of questioning by the Senate Judiciary Committee but his biggest hurdle may be yet to come.
If one theme dominated the questioning, it was whether Gorsuch, who sits on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and was nominated by President Trump, could be independent of Trump and the conservative organizations that promoted his name—the Heritage Foundation and the Federalist Society.
