What was the most valuable lesson you learned in your first year of practice? My most valuable lesson as a first year was to be proactive in shaping my career. It is far better to solicit work and convey interest in an area than to wait and see what comes through the door.
Describe your biggest win or accomplishment in practice. Launching the [U.S. Securities and Exchange Commision's] FinTech Working Group, which oversees the commission’s efforts related to financial technologies. The group has enhanced the SEC’s ability to engage with market participants and monitor cutting-edge developments ([like] blockchain), while fostering responsible innovation.
