In response to possible merger rumors between Chicago-based Gardner Carton & Douglas and Drinker Biddle & Reath, a spokesman for the Chicago firm said that he could not comment on anything involving merger discussions one way or another.
The spokesman defended the firm after sources questioned its financial health and group morale.
