Last November, the actress Doris Roberts, best known as Marie Barone on the hit TV series “Everybody Loves Raymond,” sued her former talent agency, Innovative Artists Talent and Literary Agency Inc. In the complaint, legal conflicts of interest claims — an old theme in the entertainment business — take center stage.
The law firm with the alleged conflicts is the elite Greenberg Glusker Fields Claman and Machtinger, located on Avenue of the Stars in Los Angeles. The firm is not a named defendant, but Roberts charges that her talent agent, Innovative’s Scott Harris, was in cahoots with then-Greenberg attorney James Hornstein, who had long represented Innovative and Harris.
