U.S. District Judge Gene E.K. Pratter has been nominated to take a seat on the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and, in a rare move, President George W. Bush also nominated Reed Smith attorney Carolyn Short to replace Pratter on the Eastern District of Pennsylvania bench.
The nominations, posted on the White House Web site Thursday evening, came in a batch of nominations that included one to the 4th Circuit, four more district court nominations and four nominations of U.S. Attorneys.
