A 2d U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel heard arguments about disbarred defense attorney Lynne Stewart's knowledge and intent when she passed messages from an imprisoned client to a terrorist group in Egypt. The prosecutor in the case argued that Stewart knew it was wrong when she released a statement from imprisoned client Sheik Omar Abdel Rahmn to his followers. Her defense attorney claims Stewart's act is protected by the First Amendment.
