A committee studying New York's adoption of the Uniform Bar Examination (UBE) has moved up its scheduled hearing at the City University of New York School of Law by one day, to Jan. 20.

Court officials said Monday they made the change so the hearing would not compete for attention with Gov. Andrew Cuomo's 2015 State of the State Address. Cuomo changed his annual presentation to the Legislature, from Wednesday to Jan. 21 following the death of his father Mario on New Year's Day.

The UBE hearing will begin at 2 p.m. at CUNY law, 2 Court Square, Long Island City. The Unified Court System extended its deadline for those wishing to request an invitation to testify at [email protected] by Jan. 10 and the deadline to submit written comments by Jan. 13.
