A defamation lawsuit filed by Jesse Friedman against Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice and two information officers has been dismissed by a Nassau County judge.
Friedman's lawsuit stems from statements made in a report commissioned by the prosecutor and related press statements about his 1988 conviction, along with his father, of multiple counts of child abuse.
The report incorrectly stated that Friedman was disciplined in prison for writing and distributing pornographic stories. The other group of statements at issue concerned an unfavorable evaluation of Friedman by a clinical psychologist falsely identified as his psychiatrist.
