Pace Law School faculty will take a 10 percent pay cut in the 2015-2016 academic year to help close a budget deficit, Dean David Yassky confirmed.

Yassky said the school also will “prudently” reduce its research budget, but declined to provide details on the reduction. Law school staff salaries will be reduced by 5 percent.

Yassky said the cuts—which were announced at a faculty meeting Wednesday but had been the subject of several months of budget reduction talks with faculty members—will allow the school to avoid firing faculty or staff while enabling it to maintain the quality of education for Pace students and provide more financial aid.
