Before sentencing former pharmaceutical executive Gigi Jordan to 18 years in prison for the death of her 8-year-old autistic son, the trial judge noted her lack of remorse and said he struggled to understand her.

“She is a mystery to me,” said Acting Supreme Court Justice Charles Solomon, noting that it had been revealed at trial that Jordan was worth $30 to $50 million. “All of her money, all of her resources. There were so many things she could have done.”

The sentence came after Solomon remarked that Jordan has shown a lack of remorse for killing her son and that he did not believe many of the contentions she made at trial, including that her son was being sexually tortured by numerous parties and that his death would spare him of further abuse.
