After several years of investigation, federal government officials have launched a frontal assault on what they insist is widespread corruption in international soccer—the world's most popular sport.

And they vow there will be more revelations to come.

“Going forward, we welcome the opportunity to work with our partners around the world to bring additional coconspirators and other corrupt individuals to justice,” said U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch, who was the Eastern District U.S. Attorney while the case was being built.
