A judge has ordered disclosure of certain information about the disciplinary history of the New York City police officer at the center of the Eric Garner chokehold case.

After the Civilian Complaint Review Board denied the Legal Aid Society's Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request, Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Alice Schlesinger granted Legal Aid's petition for a summary of particular records from the review board.

The summary is to indicate the number of any substantiated complaints brought against Officer Daniel Pantaleo before his fatal confrontation with Garner, as well as any review board recommendations made to the police department based on those substantiated complaints.
