A journalist who wrote about a controversial executive coaching company called NXIVM is seeking sanctions against the company and its prominent Albany attorneys, saying they never should have filed a lawsuit against her over access to its website.

Suzanna Andrews, a contributing editor at Vanity Fair who wrote about NXIVM for the magazine in 2010, claims the company intentionally misled the court in a lawsuit that a judge ultimately dismissed.

“NXIVM and its counsel knowingly brought claims that they knew were time barred. The complaint was drafted with the specific purpose of misleading the court,” she said in court papers.
