Fordham University School of Law Dean Matthew Diller, left, presents the Fordham-Stein Prize to former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder Jr. Tuesday at the law school.

First awarded in 1976, the annual prize is presented to a member of the legal profession whose work embodies the profession's highest standards in areas such as professional conduct, the advancement of justice, and contributions to society and democracy.

Joining Holder, now a partner at Covington & Burling, are Fordham president Joseph McShane, S.J.; and university provost Stephen Freedman.
