The jury in the Sheldon Silver political corruption case deliberated for a full day Tuesday without reaching a verdict.

In a day in which one juror tried to beg off the panel because of disagreement with her fellow panelists, Southern District Judge Valerie Caproni sent jurors home just after 5:30 p.m., with instructions to return in the morning for a scheduled half-day of deliberations on Thanksgiving Eve.

Less than two hours after deliberations began Tuesday, a female juror asked Caproni if she could be excused, indicating in a note she was isolated from other members of the panel.
