Karena Rahall has been chosen to head the Court Square Law Project, a “low bono” law firm that will provide affordable legal assistance to people with modest incomes.

The project was formed through a partnership between CUNY Law, the New York City Bar Association and 19 law firms. The firms each donated $100,000 to fund the project (NYLJ, Oct. 15).

The project, which will be housed at CUNY Law in Long Island City, Queens, will be staffed by 10 fellows who have graduated from law school within the last three years. Rahall said they will start taking cases in February.
