Attorney Convicted of Wire Fraud in Maxim Deal
A jury on Monday convicted Harvey Newkirk, a former Bryan Cave counsel, of wire fraud relating to a deceptive scheme to purchase Maxim magazine, while acquitting him of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.

A jury on Monday convicted Harvey Newkirk, a former Bryan Cave counsel, of wire fraud relating to a deceptive scheme to purchase Maxim magazine, while acquitting him of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.
Newkirk is scheduled to be sentenced on April 14. The maximum sentence for wire fraud is 20 years. Newkirk's attorney, Priya Chaudhry, a partner at Harris O'Brien, St. Laurent & Chaudhry, said her client plans to appeal. Newkirk was also represented by partner Jonathan Harris of Harris O'Brien.
