The Teacher's Retirement System of the City of New York (TRS) has renewed its lease with New Water Street Corp. at its 55 Water St. headquarters. The agency, one of the largest pension systems in the country, is also expanding its member services center.

TRS has leased 191,138 square feet, including the addition of a portion of the 18th floor. The actual footage expansion was undisclosed, but full floors in the building contain more than 60,000 square feet. The organization has other space on the second floor and the entire 16th and 17th floors.

“We are pleased that TRS has extended its commitment to downtown and 55 Water St. for another two decades,” George Acero, New Water Street's executive vice president and chief operating officer, said in a statement. “This is a reflection of the confidence in the lower Manhattan market.”
