A federal judge has ordered a reduced sentence for a convicted mobster who provided information to investigators that led to the recovery of explosives stashed away by Terry Nichols, a conspirator in the 1995 bombing of a federal building in Oklahoma City.

Gregory Scarpa Jr., 64, the son of an enforcer for the Colombo crime family known as the “Grim Reaper,” was convicted in 1988 of violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act other related offenses for operating a drug trafficking enterprise. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison by Eastern District Judge I. Leo Glasser.
