Blank Rome has brought on two lawyers from Withers Bergman to its tax, benefits and private client group in New York, including the former leader of Withers' U.S. tax investigations practice.

David Moise joined Blank Rome as a partner, and Jill Misener as of counsel, the firm announced Tuesday. Moise joined Withers' New York office in 2013 from Hass & Hecht.

Moise said he had been seeking an opportunity to do more business-oriented tax controversy work, which Blank Rome provided along with a domestic platform. U.K.-headquartered Withers focuses on high-net-worth clients, and about three-quarters of Moise's clients were wealthy individuals. He plans to bring much of that work to Blank Rome, including his ongoing matters, but wants to expand his work with corporations and partnerships.
