While her death remains under investigation, Court of Appeals Judge Sheila Abdus-Salaam, who was found in the Hudson River on April 12, will be honored Friday at a public memorial in Manhattan.

Abdus-Salaam, 65, was appointed to New York’s high court in 2013 and was the first black woman to serve there.
