Two men have been indicted on manslaughter charges in connection with an explosion at a marijuana grow house that killed battalion chief Michael Fahy, who graduated from New York Law School and joined Proskauer Rose before changing careers.

Two men have been indicted on manslaughter charges in connection with an explosion at a marijuana grow house in the Bronx that killed a former lawyer turned firefighter.
Prosecutors say 32-year-old Garivaldi Castillo, of Manhattan, and 34-year-old Julio Salcedo, of the Bronx, were arraigned Tuesday on the upgraded charges before Bronx Supreme Court Justice Steven Barrett. They previously had been charged with first- and second-degree assault and first-degree marijuana possession.
Battalion chief Michael Fahy died Sept. 26 after being hit by debris from the explosion while responding to a report of a gas leak at the house at 300 West 234 St. in the Kingsbridge neighborhood.
