Both sides scored points Friday as another bellwether ignition defect case against General Motors heads toward trial next month in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Judge Jesse Furman issued a 19-page order teeing up the case by dealing with pretrial requests. The judge dealt with four motions in limine from attorneys representing Dennis Ward, an Arizona man alleging that GM's highly-publicized ignition defect caused his crash and lasting injuries.
Furman said yes one to motion, no to two and maybe to the other.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays.
