An acting state Supreme Court justice has been admonished for misusing her position to try to influence criminal cases involving her son and her childhood baby sitter.

The New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct said Justice Leticia Ramirez, who is assigned to the matrimonial part in Manhattan, agreed to a public reprimand after acknowledging her mistakes.

“Every judge knows or should know that it is wrong to seek favorable results from another court for a friend or relative, and doubly wrong to invoke one's judicial title while doing so,” commission administrator Robert Tembeckjian said in a statement.
