Manhattan workers' compensation attorney Matthew Funk will take over July 1 as the new president of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.

Funk, 43, is a partner at Pasternack Tilker Ziegler Walsh Stanton & Romano, where he has practiced law since 1999 and began working as a file clerk at age 15.

He is the first workers' compensation lawyer to be president of the NYSTLA and the second-youngest president since its founding in 1953. He also serves on the executive board of the Injured Workers Bar Association and is a workers' compensation committee member of the New York Coalition for Occupational Safety & Health.
