A former upstate Town Court justice accused of mishandling court funds and records has agreed never to seek or accept judicial office, the Commission on Judicial Conduct said Thursday.
Rossie Town Court Justice Linda J. Drake, in St. Lawrence County, resigned from office effective May 19, according to a stipulation closing the commission's formal proceedings.
Drake was served with a formal complaint on Feb. 16, 2017, alleging that she failed to deposit more than $3,000 in court funds into the court's bank account. She also withdrew $100 cash from the fund, and failed to report it to the Office of the State Comptroller Justice Court Fund, the commission alleged.
