Preet Bharara may address the circumstances surrounding his March ouster as Southern District U.S. attorney, as well as the loftier topics of “integrity, leadership, decision making, and moral reasoning” in an as-yet-unnamed book set to be released in early 2019.

Bharara said in his proposal to book publisher Alfred A. Knopf that his project would include details about President Donald Trump's decision to fire Bharara after he refused to resign his post, said Paul Bogaards, an executive vice president at the publishing house.

But “oddly enough,” Bogaards said, the details about Bharara's ouster were the “least compelling” portions of the proposal. What interested the publisher the most, he said, was his philosophy.
