Michael Senese, the newly appointed chief of security for courts within New York City, was sworn in Tuesday at a ceremony at the Bronx Criminal Court.

In his new capacity, Senese will oversee security measures and safety procedures in the trial-level courts in New York City's five boroughs.

He succeeds Michael Magliano, who was promoted to chief of public safety. Senese, who began his career as a court officer in 1991, was most recently a major in Bronx Criminal Court.
