Geoffrey Berman, who co-leads the New Jersey office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, is in consideration to lead the U.S. Attorney's Office in Manhattan, BuzzFeed reported Monday afternoon.

Former New York City mayor and former Southern District of New York U.S. Attorney Rudy Giuliani also is a partner at the firm.

According to the report, Berman's name was part of a package of proposed candidates for New York judicial and U.S. attorney vacancies sent by the White House last month. Berman's name was the only one the White House proposed for U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, which was left vacant in March after President Donald Trump fired Preet Bharara, according to the report.
