Former New York Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver has his date in court—again.
U.S. District Judge Valerie Caproni for the Southern District of New York alerted counsel in the case that Silver's retrial on corruption charges is now scheduled for April 16, 2018. Caproni asked the attorneys to hold their schedule through the end of May 2018 for the trial.
The scheduling comes with a bit of a catch, which Caproni noted: the date is “[s]ubject to a decision from the [U.S.] Supreme Court that would interfere.”
