Gov. Andrew Cuomo ordered New York Air National Guard personnel and aircraft to assist Texas and Louisiana as Hurricane Harvey continues flooding the region.

On Aug. 26, the Democratic governor deployed more than 100 airmen from the 106th Rescue Wing of the New York Air National Guard to the Gulf Coast. The personnel include rescue teams and maintenance and support staff, according to the governor’s office, along with three rescue helicopters, one rescue plane and several boats that are being deployed from the Francis S. Gabreski Airport on Long Island to Fort Hood, which is roughly 75 miles north of Austin, Texas.
