New York Courts Commemorate 9/11
Judiciary officials, court officers, family members, and others paid tribute to the fallen heroes on the day of the 16th anniversary of the terrorist attacks.

Judiciary officials, court officers, family members, and others gathered on Monday to honor court officers Capt. William Harry Thompson, Sgt. Thomas Jurgens and Sgt. Mitchel Wallace, who died during 9/11 World Trade Center rescue efforts. Acting state Supreme Court Justice Ellen Biben, the administrative judge for Manhattan criminal matters, above second from left, joined, at right, by the Deputy Chief Administrative Judge George Silver, and Deputy Chief Administrative Judge for Justice Initiatives Edwina G. Mendelson paid tribute to the fallen heroes, while court officers pinned flowers to a shield in front of the New York Supreme Court building at 111 Centre St. The ceremony marked the 16th anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
