Former Congressman and one-time New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner, center, and his wife, ex-Hillary Clinton staffer Huma Abedin, left, appeared before Acting Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Michael Katz on Wednesday for what the judge called a “pro forma” appearance to determine a conference date sometime in the coming weeks.
Abedin filed for divorce from Weiner in May on the same day that he pleaded guilty before a federal judge in Manhattan to transferring obscene material to a minor.
Sentencing is pending in the criminal case. Weiner faces up to one year in prison under the terms of a plea deal.
