The Office of the Appellate Defender will host its 24th annual “First Monday in October” fundraiser on Oct. 2.

Barry Berke, a partner at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel, and John Savarese, a partner at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz will receive the Gould Award for legal advocacy. They will argue “Carpenter v. United States,” a case that will be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court next term and addresses Fourth Amendment limits on the government's efforts to obtain historical cell site location data.

Christopher Reynolds, managing officer for Toyota Motor Corporation and Executive Vice President of Corporate Resources for Toyota North America, will receive the Counsel for Justice Award for his lifelong commitment to social justice.
