Evan Norris, who led the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York's prosecution team in the sprawling FIFA soccer corruption case, joined Cravath, Swaine & Moore this month as counsel.

Norris' role at Cravath appears to be unique, as no other attorneys there are identified as litigation counsel, and the firm rarely hires outside attorneys for more senior positions. The firm employs two other attorneys in similar roles, one as special counsel handling corporate matters and another as of counsel in tax. A handful of retired partners hold senior counsel titles.

Norris spent the last decade in the Eastern District prosecutor's office, most recently as director of the Justice Department's FIFA Task Force, in which he led a case charging various FIFA officials and business executives with criminal racketeering, wire fraud and money laundering.
