The second annual George C. Hastings Community Service Award was presented recently to the Greater Hartford Legal Aid Foundation during Robinson & Cole's alumni reunion at Dunkin' Donuts Park. The award bears the name of the firm's former partner, George C. Hastings, who practiced at Robinson & Cole from 1957 until his retirement in 1995.
Hastings had a prolific, 60-plus-year career as a lawyer and a community leader. From 1994 to 1999, he served as president of the Greater Hartford Legal Aid Foundation's board of directors, remaining active until 2016. He was also the founder and longtime board member of The Bridge Family Center, which received the inaugural George C. Hastings Community Service Award last year.
The mission of the Greater Hartford Legal Aid Foundation is to ensure equal access to justice by raising funds to preserve and expand civil legal services for low-income people in Greater Hartford by supporting Greater Hartford Legal Aid.
The George C. Hastings Community Service Award is a $5,000 contribution presented annually to a community service organization that has provided outstanding service to Greater Hartford.

Driscoll from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have stepped in to represent Symbotic Inc., an A.I.-enabled technology platform that focuses on increasing supply chain efficiency, and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M.
