Matthew Colangelo, a distinguished lecturer at the Georgetown University Law Center and a former Obama administration official, will be New York's executive deputy attorney general for social justice.
He served as a deputy assistant to President Barack Obama and deputy director of the National Economic Council at the White House. He has also been chief of staff to Labor Secretary Tom Perez and deputy assistant attorney general for civil rights at the Department of Justice.
He clerked for Justice Sonia Sotomayor when she was on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
