Gonzalez recited the Oath of Office surrounded by his wife Dagmar, three sons and mother Carmen. The event was attended by Mayor Bill de Blasio and Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, among others.

Gonzalez served as acting Brooklyn District Attorney since October 2016. He is New York City's first Latino district attorney.
