Former Treasury Department Senior Adviser Austin Bramwell to Rejoin Milbank's Trusts & Estates Group
Austin Bramwell, who departed Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in June 2017 to serve as senior adviser in the Office of Tax Policy in the U.S. Department of the Treasury, has rejoined the New York office as a partner in the trusts and estates group.

Austin Bramwell, who departed Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy in June 2017 to serve as senior adviser in the Office of Tax Policy in the U.S. Department of the Treasury, has rejoined the New York office as a partner in the trusts and estates group.
Bramwell started his career with Milbank in 2005 as an associate in the trusts and estates group. He was promoted to partner in 2014, where he dealt with complex and technical tax matters and served as lead partner on several high-stakes matters.
He left the firm in June 2017 to join the Treasury Department as senior adviser in the Office of Tax Policy; he worked on the new tax reform legislation in the trusts and estates area.
“After an incredibly rewarding eight months with the Treasury Department, I could not be happier to return to my Milbank team. I am looking forward to bringing to the firm the fresh perspective, new relationships and tremendous experience I gained at the Treasury to more effectively assist our impressive and expansive roster of clients,” Bramwell said in a statement.
Bramwell has been an adjunct professor of law at New York University School of Law and is a frequent lecturer on estate planning topics.
