This report has been updated with additional information on court closures as of Wednesday afternoon.

While weather forecasts predict another snowstorm of up to a foot in certain parts of New York, the state's Unified Court System sent out a series of notices from its Twitter account on Tuesday evening announcing closures across the state on Wednesday.

The state Legislature also canceled its scheduled legislative session Wednesday ahead of the snow.

All courts in Clinton, Dutchess, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Hamilton, Montgomery, Putnam, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, St. Lawrence, Sullivan, Warren, Washington and Westchester counties, and the Poughkeepsie City Court will be closed on March 7, according to the Unified Court System's Twitter account. Evening small claims courts in Kings, Queens and Nassau counties are also closed Wednesday. Court of Claims in White Plains and Saratoga are also closed, along with Dutchess Mental Health Legal Services in Dutchess County.

The National Weather Service issued winter storm watches and warnings for the eastern portion of the Southern Tier, as well as the Mohawk Valley, North Country, Capital Region, Mid-Hudson Valley, New York City and Long Island regions Tuesday night through Thursday morning. Snowfall rates of up to 2 inches per hour are expected with winds of 15 miles per hour and gusts up to 40 miles per hour in some areas.
