Barclay Damon Elects Partner Melissa Zambri as Managing Director of Albany Office
And other announcements of recent hirings and promotions of New York attorneys.

Barclay Damon has elected partner Melissa Zambri to be managing director of the firm's Albany office. In this role, she also will join Barclay Damon's management committee, the firm's governing body. Along with Albany, Zambri will oversee the firm's Boston and Washington D.C. offices. She will remain co-chair of the it's health care & human services practice but will step down as leader of the firm's health care practice group.
Marie Polito Hofsdal has joined Pryor Cashman as counsel in the firm's bankruptcy, reorganization and creditors' rights group. She was formerly at Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker.
Public finance attorney Jonathan Ballan has joined Cozen O'Connor as a partner and co-chair of the firm's public and project finance practice group. He was formerly at Dentons.
Michael Schiavone, Daniel O'Shea and David Ni have joined Sidley Austin as partners in the firm's capital markets practice. The group joins from O'Melveny & Myers.
Polsinelli has added technology and intellectual property attorney William Tanenbaum to the firm's technology transactions and data privacy group. He will also serve as co-chair of the healthcare technology and innovation group. Prior to joining, he was a partner at Arent Fox.
Sheppard Mullin partner MaryJeanette Dee has been named co-managing partner of the firm. She joins existing managing partner, Robert Beall, in the position. She is a partner in the government contracts, investigations and international trade practice group as well as co-team leader of the securities enforcement team.
Crowell & Moring has added Paul Freeman as a senior counsel in the firm's environment and natural resources and government contracts groups. He joins from Eversheds Sutherland where he served as counsel in that firm's energy, environmental and commodities practice group.
Christopher Carolan has joined BakerHostetler as a partner in the firm's debt finance, private equity and venture capital practices. He was previously at Seyfarth Shaw.
Harry Fournaris has joined Farrell Fritz as real estate associate in the firm's Water Mill office. Prior to joining, he was an associate at Lieb at Law.
Bryn Goodman has joined Fox Rothschild as an associate in the firm's labor and employment department. She was previously an associate at Kaufman, Borgeest & Ryan.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
