The Legal Aid Society hosted its 41st Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, May 10, at Cipriani 42nd Street where they presented Richard Davis, center, chair of the Legal Aid Society board of directors, and Herb Sturz, left, senior advisor to the Open Society Foundation, with the Servants of Justice award in recognition of their extraordinary accomplishments and contributions to the advancement of justice and equality. Joining the award winners was Blaine (Fin) Fogg, right, president of the Legal Aid Society.

The evening opened with a special video message from former Vice President Joe Biden, who congratulated The Legal Aid Society for its work serving New York City’s vulnerable communities in criminal, civil, and juvenile matters, and offered a call for the continued support of free legal services programs for the poor. The dinner raised $3.2 million to support civil legal services.
