Justice Rolando Acosta, center, presiding justice of the Appellate Division, First Department, received the Justice Louis J. Capozzoli Gavel Award from the New York County Lawyers Association on Friday at its Law Day luncheon at Battery Gardens Restaurant. The award is given in recognition for exceptional contributions to the system of justice.

Joining Acosta were, from left, NYCLA president and partner at Seward & Kissel Michael McNamara; the co-chairs of NYCLA ’s Supreme Court Committee, Catafago Fini name partner Tom Fini and Flemming Zulack partner Craig Kesch; and Zila Reyes Acosta-Grimes, an associate at Debevoise & Plimpton, who is Acosta’s daughter and presented the award to her father.
