The simultaneous campaigns of Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, D-New York, for state attorney general and re-election to his Congressional seat, will be allowed to continue unhindered after the state’s highest court denied his challenger an opportunity to appeal on Wednesday.

The Court of Appeals decided not to hear arguments in the lawsuit challenging Maloney’s dual candidacy, which leaves a decision allowing both campaigns by the Appellate Division, Third Department in place.
