Former chair of NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission Meenakshi Srinivasan has joined Kramer Levin as senior land use and zoning advisor in the firm's land use department.

Kathryn Barcroft has joined Solomon Law Firm as special counsel focusing on workplace discrimination, retaliation, harassment and wrongful termination. She was previously special counsel at Cohen & Gresser.

• Christopher Capuzzi has joined Ropes & Gray as counsel in the firm's securities & public companies group. He was formerly a senior associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

• Emma Lindsay has joined Withers as a partner. She was formerly a partner at Bryan Cave, where she led that firm's international arbitration team.

• Brenner Fissell has been hired as associate professor of law at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. Prior to this position, Professor Fissell served in the U.S. Department of Defense as an appellate defense counsel for detainees charged with war crimes and held in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

• Lawrence Mandelker has joined Venable as counsel in the firm's tax and wealth planning practice. He was formerly an associate at Seyfarth Shaw.

• Mark Norell has joined Ballard Spahr as a partner in the firm's public finance department. Prior to joining, he was senior counsel at Norton Rose Fulbright.

• Shearman & Sterling has appointed Sandra Bang as its first chief diversity & talent strategy officer. She was previously global director, legal talent development at the firm.

• BakerHostetler has added veteran commercial and securities litigator Joseph Sacca as a partner. He was formerly a partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

• Farrell Fritz has hired associates Philip Butler, a land use and municipal associate in the Hauppauge office and Richard Quatrano, a corporate associate in the Uniondale office. Butler was previously an associate at Weber Law Group. Quatrano was previously an associate at Fox Horan & Camerini.
