Practice Profile: At Steptoe, Vishal is a partner in the firm's Intellectual Property Group and focuses his practice on complex life science patent litigation, post-grant patent office proceedings, strategic counseling and transactions. He has litigated significant cases related to blockbuster pharmaceuticals and biologics through all litigation phases including numerous summary judgment motions, claim construction (Markman) proceedings, injunctions, trials, damages, and Federal Circuit appeals.

Vishal also has extensive experience in strategic counseling, due diligence, licensing, technology transactions and settlements in a variety of technologies. His most significant recent matters include representing international companies in high stakes technologies related to anti-cholesterol antibodies, anti-cancer pharmaceuticals, antibiotics and medical imaging devices.

Leadership, Pro Bono and Civic Work: Vishal is committed to diversity and fostering workforce equality. He serves on the firm's diversity committee and is head of the summer associate program in New York.

Vishal also frequently speaks and publishes on a variety of intellectual property issues and serves as faculty for the New York State Bar Association's advanced trial advocacy program.

Prior Experience: Prior to practicing law, Vishal obtained a masters in biomedical/chemical engineering. He also formulated pharmaceuticals and conducted research in the field of cardiac transplantation at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School.
