Dear Readers,
Welcome to Verdict Search's Top New York Verdicts & Settlements of 2017. Our list was obtained in July and includes cases reported to VerdictSearch, an affiliate of the New York Law Journal, for the preceding calendar year. These reports are based on information as issued after trial and do not include whether post-trial motions or appeals have been decided or are pending.
Within this publication you will find the highest grossing verdicts, settlements, mediated settlements, arbitrations, and decisions for the state. Each section is listed in order by highest ranking case amount along with winning attorneys in order of “lead” and “co-lead” (if reported) then alphabetically by firm and last name.
VerdictSearch editors retain sole discretion to make adjustments in rank when necessary to reflect statutes that provide for election of remedies or other types of overlapping awards. If you do not see a case you worked on last year, we encourage you to begin reporting your cases online at VerdictSearch.com/submit-case. You can also submit a case to VerdictSearch by telephone at 212-457-9576.
As always, if you have any thoughts on this program or any other we run here at the New York Law Journal please drop me a line. I can be reached at [email protected].
Warm regards, Wayne Curtis, Publisher, New York Law Journal
