Another Sullivan & Cromwell partner is treading the well-worn path from the Wall Street law firm to the corporate legal department of a key longtime client, Goldman Sachs & Co.

Darrell Cafasso, 42, joined Goldman Sachs last month as managing director and associate general counsel, heading the bank's litigation and regulatory proceedings group. Cafasso, who became a Sullivan & Cromwell partner in 2013, has litigated disputes in products liability, securities, financial services and consumer financial products.

Cafasso joined several former Sullivan & Cromwell colleagues now at Goldman, including Karen Seymour, who earlier this year became general counsel and co-head of the bank's legal department, as well as Greg Palm, another general counsel and legal department co-head. Other former Sullivan & Cromwell alums at Goldman include Esta Stecher, who has chaired the boards of directors of Goldman Sachs Bank USA and Goldman Sachs International Bank; and Robert Katz, who has served as general counsel and then senior director.

Cafasso, a 2002 Columbia Law School graduate who briefly practiced with Gibbons, joined Sullivan & Cromwell in 2006. He has been part of Sullivan & Cromwell's litigation team for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in several diesel emissions cases. According to court records, in recent years he also litigated on behalf of JPMorgan Chase Bank; William Erbey, former executive chairman at mortgage serving business Ocwen Financial Corp.; and oil producer California Resources Corp.

Other former clients include Banco Popular, Barclays Bank Delaware, Diageo and Moody's Corp., according to his former Sullivan & Cromwell firm profile.
